EV Charger Load Management & Dynamic Load Balancing
What load management is, when you need it, and how dynamic load balancing keeps an EV charger from tripping your main switch.

Load management automatically reduces charger output when other big loads are active, so you don’t overload your main supply. Dynamic load balancing does this in real time using a current transformer (CT) on your incoming feed.
When you need it
- Your switchboard is at or near capacity
- You already run high loads (electric water heating, pool pump)
- You want to avoid a costly switchboard upgrade
- You have multiple chargers or a battery + charger combo
Does load balancing slow my charging?
Only when the home is already drawing heavily. Most of the time you get full speed, and it prevents tripping the main switch during evening peak.
